1) Scope

This policy describes how The English School (“TES”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use the App to view balances, make tuition and fee payments, and manage your account. It does not cover other school systems or websites with their own notices.

2) Personal Data We Collect

A. Account & Relationship Data (Parents/Guardians)

Name, email, phone, postal/billing address
Relationship to student(s), student selection/links
Login credentials (hashed), role/permissions

B. Student Billing Identifiers (About the Student)

Student name, school ID/registration number, class/year, campus, tuition account/ledger references
Note: This app is for parents/guardians. We do not ask students to create App accounts.

C. Payment & Transaction Data

Invoice/statement details, amounts due/paid, currency, timestamps
Payment method token, last 4 digits, brand, expiry, payment status, refunds, payer IP/country
Processed by: [Insert payment provider(s)] — responsible for PCI DSS compliance

D. Device & Usage Data (App)

Device type/OS, App version, language, crash logs
IP address, coarse geolocation, App activity (e.g., viewed invoice, initiated payment)
Push notification token (if enabled)

E. Support & Communications

Messages, call notes, attachments (e.g., proof of payment), survey responses

3) Why We Use Your Data

Provide the App & Payment Services: Manage accounts, display balances, process payments, send receipts.
Security & Fraud Prevention: Detect and prevent unauthorized access or misuse.
Improve the App: Debugging, analytics, performance monitoring.
Compliance: Accounting, auditing, and legal obligations.

4) How We Share Information

We share data with payment providers, banks, technology vendors, and auditors as required to operate the App and meet legal obligations. We do not sell or share data for advertising purposes.

5) International Data Transfers

If data is transferred outside Kuwait (e.g., to the EEA/UK/US), we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and vendor due diligence.

6) Data Retention

Account data: Retained while active, and up to 7 years after closure.
Payment records: At least 7 years (tax and audit laws).
Logs: 90–365 days, unless required for security investigation.

7) Security

We apply encryption, access control, secure development, and monitoring practices. No system is 100% secure—please keep your credentials safe.

8) Your Choices & Rights

Update account details or disable notifications in your App/device settings.
Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing accounts@tes.edu.kw.

9) Children & Students

The App is intended for parents and authorized payers. Students under 13 cannot create accounts.

10) Cookies & SDKs

The App may use SDKs for crash reporting, performance, and analytics. We do not use advertising SDKs.

11) Third-Party Services & Links

The App may display content from payment providers or other third parties. Review their privacy policies before entering any details.

12) Automated Decision-Making

We do not use automated decision-making without human involvement.

13) Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Updates will be shown in the App and via email when material.
